Starting today and until the 21st of July, Jefferys Bay will host the 6th stop of the 2014 Samsung Galaxy ASP World Championship Tour.
J-Bay has one of the best and most consistent right-hand pointbreaks in the world. This amazing pointbreak is famous for its smooth barrels that are very fast and powerful.
J-BAY Is BACK!
The last time J-Bay was part of the ASP Championship Tour was in 2011, however, the last time the ASP found itself in Jefferys Bay was in 2012 for the 6 Star World Qualifying Series.
Jordy Smith was the last champion at J-Bay, winning not only in 2011 but in 2010 as well. He recently stated: “It’s by far the best stop on the tour for quality of high performance surfing. It’s arguably the best right hand point in the world.”
The other champions in Jefferys Bay have been Joel Parkinson in 1999 and 2009; Kelly Slater in 2003, 2005 and 2008; Taj Burrow in 2007; Mick Fanning in 2002 and 2006; Andy Irons in 2004; Jake Paterson in 2000 and 2001 and Michael Barry in 1998.
